Charles Schmidt

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - the Schmidt Family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the

The Military Order of the Purple Heart

Charles served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 as a gunner on the light cruiser U.S.S. Vicksburg, and was wounded in action during the invasion of Iwo Jima.  He earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, among other medals, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a past commander of the Disabled American Veterans, and a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Hall of Honor.

A contribution to the Military Order of the Purple Heart would be a lasting tribute to Charles' service and his memory, and will serve to help continue the myriad of nation-wide programs for veterans that the Purple Heart provides.
