Jacqueline Button

A devout Catholic, Jackie lived her life on the principles of her faith: Compassion ~ Generosity ~ Love

She will be dearly missed & forever remembered as having generously and perpetually given of herself to others.

To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - the Button Family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the

Eastern Christian Children's Retreat

As a maternity nurse at Paterson General Hospital in the 1950’s, Ms. Theresa Bushman saw firsthand the need for a residential facility for disabled children and became the driving force behind the founding of the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat, the first private residential facility for people with developmental disabilities in the state of New Jersey. Founded in the spirit of Christian love, the residential facility opened in December 1972 and now serves more than 120 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of the founders and the Board of Directors is that each resident has the opportunity to achieve personal growth and a meaningful life, facilitated by a caring, skilled and dedicated staff and guided by the organization's Christian calling and principles.

This organization holds special meaning for the Button Family, as Jackie's daughter, Jill, spent significant time here before passing away at an early age. A contribution to the ECCR would not only be a living tribute to Jackie's memory, but also help other families in need.
