Jay Lawrence Switzer
A true kid at heart, whether through his artistic vision of the world or his innocent compassion in wanting to help others, Jay was always able to connect with people in a way that left them wanting more. He will be missed for his generosity, his advice and his comedic personality. Based on his genuine devotion to helping others, a contribution to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors would be both a living and fitting tribute to his memory.
To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - the Switzer Family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
Since 1994, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) has provided comfort, compassionate care and hope to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in the Armed Forces. Through its Peer Mentor Network, comprised of hundreds of surviving family members who have become Peer Mentors, survivors volunteer their time to reach out to the newly bereaved, offering their most precious gift – their understanding and support. For those young families who have lost a parent through their service to the United States, TAPS offers National and Regional Good Grief Camps, pairing an Armed Service member for each individual child. By spending the day with the children, engaging them in activities that help them share feelings, express emotions, they help them cope with their overwhelming grief. All of these services are provided at no cost to those families enduring their pain and loss.
