To ensure your generosity and support are acknowledged - and to help protect you from future solicitations - the Johanson Family has requested that memorial contributions be made through IN MEMORY OF to the

American Legion Stephen C. Ludlam Post 331

Larry's devotion to service began in the Army during the Vietnam War.  The deep sense of patriotism that compelled him to enlist remained a guiding principle throughout his life, and ultimately led him to become part of the American Legion in Stone Harbor.  A place of camaraderie and shared experience, the American Legion played a significant role in Larry's later years.  A donation to Post 331 would honor the life-long service to country and community that Larry proudly displayed and continued the Post's ongoing commitment in helping our veterans.

The American Legion, initially chartered in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization, has since grown to a societally-impactful non-profit helping all Americans. The Legion helps thousands of veterans receive VA benefits they earned through their service, conducts career fairs for veterans and transitioning service members, and through Operation Comfort Warriors, raises funds to provide comfort items for U.S. troops recovering in military hospitals and transition units worldwide.

Chartered in 1946, American Legion Post 331 was named after Private First Class (PFC) Steven C. Ludlam, who gave his life in heroic action near Ostheim, France in 1945 and was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his bravery.
